Waskesiu/Montreal Lake RCMP ask the public to report sightings of Isiah Roberts

On May 29, 2023 at approximately 4:30 a.m., Waskesiu/Montreal Lake RCMP received a report of an assault at a residence on Montreal Lake Cree Nation.

Officers immediately responded. Investigation determined an adult male assaulted an adult female over the course of several hours. The victim was taken to hospital with injuries described as serious.

Officers observed the adult male in the residence and notified him he was under arrest. He fled from the residence and ran into a nearby wooded area. Officers searched extensively for him and he was not located.

As a result of investigation by Waskesiu/Montreal Lake RCMP, with the assistance of Saskatchewan RCMP’s Prince Albert General Investigation Section, 22-year-old Isiah Roberts from Montreal Lake Cree Nation is charged with:

  • one count, attempted murder, Section 239, Criminal Code;
  • one count, aggravated assault, Section 268, Criminal Code;
  • one count, aggravated sexual assault, Section 273(2)(b), Criminal Code;
  • one count, unlawful confinement, Section 273(2)(b), Criminal Code;
  • two counts, assault with weapon, Section 267(a), Criminal Code;
  • one count, utter threats, Section 264.1(1)(a), Criminal Code; and
  • one count, obstruct peace officer, Section 129(a), Criminal Code.

A warrant has been issued for Isiah Roberts’ arrest and Waskesiu/Montreal Lake RCMP and the Saskatchewan RCMP’s Warrant Enforcement and Suppression Team (WEST) are actively working to locate him.

Isiah Roberts is described as being approximately 5’10” and 135 lbs. He has black hair and brown eyes.

Isiah Roberts may be in the Prince Albert or Montreal Lake area, but this has not been confirmed.
