Vaccine hesitancy is a greater issue among Indigenous and newcomer populations, a survey has found. Attempts are being made to curb that.
For many Saskatchewan residents, getting vaccinated against COVID-19 is a matter of waiting for their group to be called, battling by Internet or phone to get a spot and then making their way — often by vehicle — to a clinic, pharmacy or drive-thru.
But for others — particularly those from racialized or marginalized communities — the question of getting vaccinated isn’t always a simple one. Access to technology and transportation might be a problem. And there are those who, for various reasons, are hesitant to get the vaccine in the first place.
