U of SK: National Indigenous Peoples Day
Join us on June 21, 2018 to celebrate National Indigenous Peoples Day at the third annual ‘Rock Your Roots’ Walk for Reconciliation.
Starting at 9:30 a.m. at Victoria Park, the Rock Your Roots Walk for Reconciliation will feature a variety of traditional and multicultural dances, music and performances along the way.
A small group will represent the university at the walk, with a bus leaving from the Gordon Oakes Red Bear Student Centre at 9:00 am and returning to campus at 11:30 am and 1:00 pm. There are limited seats, and you can register online. Please seek approval from your supervisor before agreeing to attend this event, and wear your U of S clothing to show your university pride.
National Indigenous Peoples Day is a country-wide celebration of the contributions and cultures of First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples that occurs annually on June 21.
