SK Government: Province Announces Renewed Sponsorship for Canadian Western Agribition
November 22, 2021
Today, during the burning of the brand, Agriculture Minister David Marit announced a five-year, $250,000 partnership with Canadian Western Agribition.
“The Government of Saskatchewan is proud to continue our support of Canadian Western Agribition and to make this announcement on their fiftieth anniversary,” Marit said. “This show puts Saskatchewan’s agriculture industry on the world stage, enhancing our international reputation and providing producers with the information, technology and connections needed to reach our growth plan goals for 2030.
The renewed sponsorship agreement will provide Canadian Western Agribition with $50,000 in sponsorship annually for five years, starting in 2022 through to the 2026 show.
“The continued support of the Province of Saskatchewan will help CWA maintain its position as one of the most important showcases of agriculture anywhere in the world,” CWA CEO Chris Lane said. “For decades, this partnership has helped Agribition be a premier connection for sending Saskatchewan agriculture products around the world, and today’s announcement ensures that will continue for years to come.”
Canadian Western Agribition traditionally attracts over 100,000 attendees a year, including 1,200 international guests from over 86 counties. Canadian Western Agribition includes livestock shows, a Family Ag Pavilion, a tradeshow, Grain Expo and Indigenous Ag Summit, among other events. Agribition is an important part of Saskatchewan’s agriculture industry and contributes approximately $73 million to the provincial economy each year in addition to promoting and showcasing all that Saskatchewan has to offer.
The government’s current, four-year $200,000 sponsorship agreement with Canadian Western Agribition ends this year.
