Saskatchewan broadcasting company puts together database on missing people – APTN News

The Missinippi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) in LaRonge, Sask., launched a database of missing people from the stories it’s covered.

The MBC mainly serves Indigenous audiences in the northern portion of the province. A missing persons banner is front and centre on its website.

MBC is hoping the initiative will encourage people to come forward with information.

“People will see this, explore it, go through it, and go, ‘Oh, you know,’ and maybe that light bulb moment comes on and they think, ‘I think I know something about this,’” says radio host Ken Landers. “And even if they’re unsure, the biggest thing is that we encourage them to, you know, to still bring that forward.”
