May 06, 2025
Dozens of community members gathered in downtown Regina Monday to participate in a march in recognition of Red Dress Day – honouring missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls and 2SLGBTQI+ people throughout Canada.
The day has now been recognized in the country for 15 years.
“Just to be present for our community. It’s really important. I hope that people are seeing that … they understand that we do care and these people matter,” Women of the Dawn representative Robin Cote told CTV News.
According to the Assembly of First Nations, Indigenous women and girls are four times more likely to be victims of violence. Some of their disappearances can last for years and even decades.
