Anyone who lived on a First Nation in Saskatchewan that had a long-term drinking water advisory for more than a year may qualify.
SASKATCHEWAN – Anyone who lived on a First Nation in Saskatchewan that had a long-term drinking water advisory for more than a year now have until March 7, 2024, to submit their claim for compensation.
The First Nations Drinking Water Settlement provides compensation for individuals and First Nations Band Councils across Canada that were impacted by drinking water advisories that lasted at least one year between Nov. 20, 1995, and June 20, 2021.
“We are encouraging individuals to submit a claim for compensation as soon as possible and are offering real support to help them in the process,” said Darian Baskatawang, a lawyer for the class action lawsuit.
