We are looking for a Senior Manager – Community Wellness and Protection, an expert in community engagement programs addressing risk reduction and the promotion of resilience who will work with the Risk Reduction and Resilience (RR&R) and Creating Safe Environments (CSE) leadership Teams as well MHPSS (within EMCI) to ensure that the work in the field aligns with Society goals and priorities in accordance with policies and procedures.

The Senior Manager Community Wellness & Protection will work with provincial leadership teams and will commit to working effectively as a group and creatively implement strategies that maximize benefit for those we serve.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead a cohesive and high performing team of staff and volunteers in developing and implementing the strategic objectives for CSE-CW&P, building in relationship with Indigenous communities including service providers and governance structures.
  • Work within the National RR&R/CSE and other CRC teams as well as geographic leadership team to integrate service delivery within partnering Indigenous communities.
  • Lead process to confirm project scope, goals, deliverables, and workforce requirements that support the evolution of CSE-CW&P programming in support of Indigenous communities
  • Manage the planning, budget management, and reporting requirements for the CSE-CW&P Operational plan/budget as well as external funded projects.
  • Work with others to determine the frequency and content of internal status reports and dashboards
  • Communicate project success criteria and disseminates to stakeholder parties throughout program/project life cycle.
  • Work with CRC Leadership and stakeholders (national and regional) to formalize relationships through agreements and service contracts.
  • Ensure the effective implementation of CSE-CW&P programs that will bring value to ongoing capacity building of targeted Indigenous communities and organizations.

What we are looking for:

  • Must have University degree, and six to ten years of directly related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience including working with Indigenous communities and within youth engagement programming. Preference will be given to a self-declared Indigenous candidate.
  • Experience in building volunteer, community, and government partnerships with specific reference to working with Indigenous communities
  • Proven program development, monitoring, and evaluation, facility, human resource (volunteers and staff), and financial management experience in a complex environment essential
  • Proven leadership on community wellness programs that address the unique needs of distinct populations including Indigenous youth.
  • Experience in working with a diverse population and an understanding of cultural issues
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English essential.
  • Experience in implementing monitoring and evaluation systems.
  • Experience in analyzing and synthesizing data to use it for reports and/or proposal

Working conditions:

  • Travel is required
