The University of Saskatchewan invites media to Day 4, the final day, of spring convocation.

Ross Petty, one of the worlds most outstanding pediatric rheumatologists, and Joseph Quewezance, a man whohas dedicated his career to improving the quality of life of First Nations communities in Saskatchewan, will receive honorary degrees today.

DETAILED CEREMONY INFORMATION

CEREMONY 7: Thursday, June 7, 9 am—Interviews at noon

The academic procession begins at 8:45 am, speeches at 9 am and graduates start walking across the stage at 10 am. Media interviews begin at noon behind the stage.

Graduating: Kinesiology, Medicine, Pharmacy and Nutrition, School of Physical Therapy, and Veterinary Medicine.

Honorary Doctor of Science: Ross Petty, a U of S graduate, developed a comprehensive clinical, training and research program in pediatric rheumatology at the University of British Columbia.

Governor General Silver Medal:Molly Rayner—this medal recognizes academic excellence at the undergraduate level. Rayneris graduating today with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with a major in Exercise and Sport Studies.

CEREMONY 8: Thursday, June 7, 2 pm—Interviews at 5 pm

The academic procession begins at 1:45 pm, speeches are at 2 pm, and graduates start walking across the stage at 3 pm. Media interviews begin at 5 pm behind the stage.

Graduating: Dentistry, and Nursing.

Honorary Doctor of Laws: Joseph Quewezance has dedicated his career to improving the quality of life of First Nations communities in Saskatchewan by influencing public policy on all levels of government. During his three terms as Tribal Chief at Saskatoon Tribal Council, he laid the foundation for many community partnerships with business, government and industry.
