SPIRITWOOD, Sask. _ RCMP have charged a man with weapons offences following an investigation of a break and enter in rural Saskatchewan in which a gun was fired.

Police say Mounties from the Spiritwood detachment west of Prince Albert responded to a call early Tuesday morning.

Officers took a man into custody and were searching for a missing Ford F350 truck.

RCMP say Ronald Joseph of the Big River First Nation faces possession of a weapon for a purpose dangerous to the public, unauthorized possession of a firearm, break and enter, theft of a vehicle and other charges.

Police say Joseph, who is to appear in court on Wednesday, is not the person who fired the gun.

RCMP declined to release further details.
