Prime Minister Justin Trudeau speaks with Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe
February 19, 2020
Today, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau spoke with Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe to talk about the infrastructure disruptions caused by blockades and their impact on people across Canada. Premier Moe noted he would be chairing a Council of the Federation call today on this issue.
The Prime Minister and the Premier discussed the importance of ending the blockades quickly and peacefully, and of continuing the dialogue to address underlying issues in the spirit of reconciliation. Prime Minister Trudeau committed to working closely with Premier Moe to resolve the situation.
This call builds on the Prime Minister’s continued outreach to premiers across the country, where he is stressing the need for all orders of governments to be engaged to minimize the very real economic and personal impacts on Canadians. The Prime Minister and ministers will continue to work directly with premiers and Indigenous leaders to bring this situation to a peaceful and lasting resolution as soon as possible.
