One person was dragged by a pickup truck in southern Alberta after the driver allegedly tried to run over a large group of people.

Police in Medicine Hat the incident happened early yesterday after a dispute.

The victim was dragged only a few feet and suffered minor injuries.

A 27-year-old Medicine Hat man is facing charges of assault with a weapon, uttering threats, dangerous driving and breach of probation. (The Canadian Press)

Authorities in Regina are investigating the death of a man in the city late Saturday night.

Police say they were called about an injured man on Cornwall Street and found the 39-year-old when they arrived.

E-M-S pronounced him dead at the scene.

Police say they’re working with the Office of the Chief Coroner on the case, and they’re asking anyone with information to contact them. (The Canadian Press)

The federal Liberals say Calgary-Skyview M-P Darshan Kang is under investigation by the House chief human resources officer.

The Chief Government Whip’s office confirms the allegations of sexual harassment are being taken seriously.

Charles-Eric Lepine, chief of staff in the office, says that when they were made aware of the allegations they followed House of Commons process and referred them to the human resources officer.

(Sask-Vote-Recount)

A judicial recount has confirmed the position of secretary of the Metis Nation-Saskatchewan.

The unofficial results had Ashley Norton defeating Lisa McCallum in a close race for secretary in May.

But after the results became official, McCallum was declared the winner, finishing eight votes ahead of Norton.

The Metis Nation’s Election Act states that if there is a difference between votes of two per cent or less, an official recount will have to be done through Court of Queen’s Bench. (MBC)

Public consultation has started on a draft management plan for Prince Albert National Park in Saskatchewan.

The Canada National Parks Act and the Parks Canada Agency Act require each national park and historic site to have a management plan to help shape future direction.

The plans are assessed every 10 years to ensure conservation, outreach, promotion and enhancing visitor experience strategies are being met.

Indigenous groups with connections to Prince Albert National Park are among the groups that have been asked to provide feedback on the draft, which is available on the park’s web site. (MBC)

The Canada Summer Games — called the hottest summer in half a century — closed in Winnipeg yesterday.

Jett Hnatiuk, the President and C-E-O of the 2017 Canada Summer Games, says the games brought in around 4-thousand athletes and 20-thousand visitors over the course of two weeks.

Hnatiuk says roughly 150-thousand people watched the athletes perform at the games.

The next Canada Games will be held in Red Deer, Alberta, two years from now in winter. (Winnipeg Free Press, Global Winnipeg)
