Two lucky winners will travel to Ottawa for World Environment Day

April 22, 2017 – Gatineau, Quebec – Environment and Climate Change Canada

Canada is excited and honoured to host World Environment Day, on June 5, 2017. This year’s theme is “connecting people to nature.”

The Minister of Environment and Climate Change, Catherine McKenna, invites Canadians between the ages of 18 and 25 to put together a short, two-minute video to show how they connect with nature, protect the environment, and take action on climate change.

World Environment Day 2017 is all about connecting people to nature. As part of the celebration, two participants from the video contest will be randomly selected to join Minister McKenna at the World Environment Day events in Ottawa. Individuals interested in the contest can check out the rules and regulations and the entry form on the video contest web page.

With creative initiatives such as these, the Government of Canada will continue to engage Canadians in preserving and protecting the environment. Both at home and abroad, we are coming together to preserve and protect our rich natural heritage for today’s children and for generations to come.
