Family Information Liaison Unit Now Operational – Government of SK
November 9, 2017
The province’s new Family Information Liaison Unit (FILU) is now open and providing services to families of missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls.
Funded through Justice Canada, FILU is a dedicated unit within the Ministry of Justice designed to connect families of missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls with those organizations who can provide information about their loved ones.
“We are pleased to provide this additional support for the families of our missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls,” Justice Minister and Attorney General Don Morgan said. “These families are experiencing a deep loss, and the assistance we can provide in navigating the legal system and multiple organizations who hold information will hopefully ease the stress of their situation.”
FILU will also work with families and communities to help them navigate the multiple sectors of the criminal justice system and other stakeholder agencies who hold the information about their loved ones.
The FILU can be reached at 902 – 1801 Hamilton Street Conexus Plaza REGINA, SK S4P 4B4, Toll Free Family Access Line at 1-833-529-6486 or email at FILU@gov.sk.ca.
